yeah i would double check. you never know. are you running the console client? or the system tray one?
I'm running the console for both gpu and cpu and I just checked again and everything seems in order. whiterabbit and 3446 for both clients.

Who really thought another iPad would come out this year...i mean honestly?
There are a lot of nutjobs who read this forum. And I mean a LOT.
People whose grasp of reality is so tenuous as to ignore the economics of consumer electronics manufacturing and the realities of Newtonian physics. It's quite sad, really.

This whole thing about the iphone 5 coming out in June...oh wait...maybe not until late September...oh wait...maybe not until fiscal year end 2012, and now the white iPhone 4 (which I held out for) has really really thrown a monkey wrench in my update plans! Ugggggggggggggggggg!
Apple's secretiveness certainly has a negative impact when there are long term contracts involved in purchasing decisions.

If the bottom half of the device is a touchscreen, you don't have to use physical overlays. You could expand on the concept of the Nintendo DS.
I think the point is to make it tactile. To have buttons that actually push down, sliders that actually slide, knobs that actually turn, etc. The innovation here is that a *lot* of people have thought of 2 different concepts:
1) Keyboard overlays, where the input device is still a keybard, you're just customizing the functions of the particular keys
2) Video touchscreen-based interface like the Nintendo DS, early Treos, etc.
The point is, this would have a touch sensitive interface (one big trackpad), and the *physical* overlays would give a tactile feel, but the functionality would actually be engineered and programmed as interactions with this giant trackpad. That's something I haven't seen before and I commend Apple for patenting it.

I'll use this if it offers new releases. Look out Netflix.
When combined with Front Row, (YouTube and other entertaining media streams) and EyeTV via the Miglia TVmini HD, this makes a great addition to the Mac Mini as entertainment cetner. :D

Bershire Hathaway is trading at $3328 per share at bell close today.
Exactly...otherwise, companies wouldn't do share splits from time to time...high individual share prices raise risk and scare investors away, especially in technology-related industries...

What are the odds of these being included with FCPX? Or are they more likely add-ons through the store? Maybe $150 and 50 respectively.....
PS - I'm happy it's going to the app store because I'm assuming this means no 50GB of data to fill up my SSD.

wow people are so worried about magnisium being used. First off you dont use the stuff in it pure form. In the pure form it is way to reactive to be used. Make an Alloy out of it an boom you got something really good.
Heck most stuff made out of alluim is not made made out pure Al. Most of the time it is an Al. The alloy metal is normally li (the lightest of all metals but highly reactive)
It be some alloy metal with it.
Heck steel is an alloy. up to about 4% carbon by weight. Most metals we used to day are some alloy.

Then you dont have to give it up. Period. I'm in the UK as well, and Ive been hauled up about my habit of having a laptop with me right the way thru secondary school + sixth form(2003-2010 if anyone wants a timeframe). I just told them its worth too much to give up, and if they want they can send me home. Otherwise Im not going to let them take it, and if they think its a threat, the only place its going is with me, home. They can't force you to give it up under UK law. :D (As in just hold onto it, they cant pull it from you, they cant lay their hands on you, unless they fancy a nice little media storm, since it cant be construed as a dangerous weapon)
Also, if they continue to moan about his "network" then firstly point out you werent doing it, as the Airport card was deactivated, and then next time take a really old (Like PowerBook 1400 era - ie 1996) Laptop and let them haul you up about that under "hacking" - then point out it cant as it doesnt actually have any networking ports at all :D (After I pulled that one I was left alone by IT for the last 3 years of secondary school)
Oh and also ask why they didnt take everybody's phones on entry to the school, since just about any smartphone can do as much damage as any laptop to their network (Most phones, especially Android ones certainly could be loaded with hacking tools... )
thats awesome news, thanks for that! i'll continue to take it to school, and if he tries to take it off me again, i'll be sure to explain the above points to him. its crazy how little trust the school IT guys have in their students, especially when we're clearly doing work on our computers.

Biggest problem with Veloster: it needs a more powerful engine. Maybe Hyundai will see it fit to install the 173 bhp 2.4-liter I-4 found on the current Kia Forte, which would give the Veloster a needed performance boost. :)
perhaps down the line for the US market, for the european market a NA I4 2.4 liter engine with 173hp is just going to gather dust in the showrooms
140hp will be fine for the launch looking at the competition: the cr-z is 136 hp hybrid only, the megane ranges from 110 to 180 and the scirocco from 120 to 210 (that is a 2.0 turbo petrol) including diesel options
and those hardly selling great at the moment: don't make it worse with an unsellable engine

Increased marketshare is good, up to a point. Also, if world marketshare is staying the same, but the US is increasing, somewhere in the world apple is becoming less popular.
Yup I agree, I think more Windows users are actually switching to Linux now and some Apple users too, but I don't know for sure maybe someone canfind a recent survey taken with that.

Has anyone else had their events in iPhoto totally screwed up by this update? It took 10 events and turned them into about 50. :(
I had this from the last update, but Im thinking it was the iPhoto update recently, not the iPhone/ iPad updates. This needs to get fixed ASAP!

If the school confiscates your laptop, you go to the police and file charges. FOR WHAT, ENFORCING SCHOOL RULES?
And the school is in big trouble. Technically what they did was stealing. They have absolutely no right confiscating anything. THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CONFISCATE ON THEIR PREMISES IF THEY BELIVE ITS A RISK TO THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE.
What they can do is prevent your access to the building if your are carrying something which they deem "against the rules". But taking away a $1000+ notebook? That's a serious offense HARDLY
and I wouldn't let it go so easily. File a complain with the school administration, if they don't react, go to the police. I am serious. There are some things which you just can't let slide. THE POLICE WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE, FACT.
You don't have a clue what you're talking about do you...?

they even tracking iphone locations now!
They don't use that information, it's just on your phone and in back ups. I'm sure now people have kicked up a fuss about it, they will do something to encrypt or remove that file. It's hardly on the same scale as google recording data from unsecure wi-fi networks in people's homes, using their mapping vans.

Aluminium is around 2.50 USD/Kg
Magneium is can be had for $16 USD/Metric Tonne
magnesium is definetly cheaper:eek:
Hurray for the magpod
on the other hand... maybe apple is using the magnesium for a real super computer (http://www.magnesium.com/w3/news-room/news_open.php?news=2261);)
Damn, I didn't know they were already planning to build quantumcomputers (I know it's of topic) Good times ahead (but software developers can start again from scratch:) )

It also seems like people aren't used to the fact that iTunes organizes your music files for you -- they want to go into each folder and name things themselves. SO DIFFICULT.
