So use some of the 185 sources listed at the bottom of Apple's Wikipedia page.
Alternatively, ask what the point of this particular assignment is. Your class's assignments could all be done by your professor in about 5 minutes each; "History of [company]".

The Finder brushed metal will be the last surprise change to the UI. Brushed metal is so 2004. Probably we'll see a radical change to Finder?
My guess, we'll see buttons and soft gradients, like those on the Apple store (Mac Book Pro) pages.

he isn't really that new 2005 was more than 6 months ago so he should have the opportunity to use the marketplace...
That's macrumor's decision tho, not ours. It's 250 posts AND 6 months.

They're really lumping iOS and *ANDROID* sales together?
Doesn't Android get something like 1% of the sales iOS gets?
I was thinking the same thing

thanks for the input guys!
i currently have the late-2009 unibody white macbook, would it be worth it to buy the new 2011 13" MBP? I'm just trying to see my options
Depends on what you do. Most likely not, to be honest.

Hi Guys,
A mac mini (2 months old) connected to a GOOD UPS is now rebooting on it's own 3-4 times a day.
There are log files generated for these events but are too detailed for my understanding.
Is there a simple event viewer (like MS eventvwr.msc) that can show me failed services, failed operations, etc., so I can try and track down what the heck is going on?
Any help would be appreciated.

hmm..., I was in college back then.
I was sleeping when the first plane crashed. One of my roomates woke me up and said something like "wake up dude, I think World War III has just begun" (talk about a surreal way to wake up). When I got up the news guy was talking about an attack on the pentagon.
Classes had been suspended that day (due to a a bad storm that had flooded some streets), so we stayed all day at home glued to the TV in complete shock and disbelief.

Marketplace is only open to people with 6 months and 250 posts. There isn't a place for new members to trade here. I suggest craigslist.

I suggest that you install tinyumbrella, and run it. It will back up your SHSH blobs and show you what options you actually have....

Plug in the external FireWire drive and pop in your system restore disc. Restore to the external drive, and when it asks if you want to copy yoru files and settings from another Mac OS X installtion, tell it yes. One of the options is to migrate from "another partition on the same computer." It'll copy over all your files, applications, user settings...everything.
That, or you could go the CCC route. Whichever.

Hey.
Just starting to get interested in the past, and history of apple, and Steve Jobs, and wanted to read some books etc on it. There seem to be a few around.. iCon, Apple Confidential etc.. I want to get a couple. Any suggestions for me? Anything I should steer clear of? Thanks.
Oh - Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a search on Apple Books (http://forums.macrumors.com/search.php?searchid=2018999) and couldn't find any relevant results.
Thanks

well what is the best quality I can get from a rip? Ive got like 256kbps 128 320 its all over the place
Uncompressed is the best, but if you don't have the storage capacity, AAC is quite good with 192Kbit/s, although I prefer 256Kbit/s and 320Kbit/s.

Good photos, but as usual they need a 30" screen to be able to see the other half of the images...
Looks like a fun time was had by all, one year I'll have to attend one of these meet-ups.

I bought the Zune (original) on the day it came out. I was new to mp3 players and ipods, etc. My wife already had an ipod and liked it. The Zune, for me, was a good choice. The music subscription service for $15 per month was great.
Where it failed was integration with Windows itself. I was HUGE into Windows Media Center. My living room entertainment center was a Windows Media Center PC equipped with a TV tuner and I bought the $300 Media Center Extender. It was awesome to be able to record TV and watch it on my extender in another room. Why didn't the zune allow syncing of TV shows recorded in WMC? Somebody made an awesome app to take care of this, though. I could watch my recorded TV while waiting for PT (Physical Training) to start. The Zune was great! Even now, I have to run 2 programs to get recorded TV on my ipad.
But they totally failed at marketing the Zune in my opinion. It was a great idea, and a great device. Microsoft though, are a bunch of old fogies trying to be "cool", and it didn't work out.
I'm honestly sad to see it go. I love competition. It drives innovation. Look at all of the iPad competitors coming out. They may fail, but this is what makes better products for the consumer.

Just wondering other ppl's experience with Firefox 4 on the MBA, I still use 3.6.17 and it's been great except for the Flash/YouTube fan issue.
Does the upgrade fix the issue by any chance? Any reason why I should not upgrade?
