With the update notice officially stating When Lion ships this summer What are the chances the iMac refresh will happen at the same time? or will it be in the Fall instead?

I think iMac overhaul is in the fall right after the back to school deals are over......

Surprising how heated the debate on this can get - I think it's a great story.
Boy makes mistake (as does mother, in not supervising him closely enough). The mother asks for help from Apple, and Apple complies even though they don't have to. The boy, and his mother are very unlikely to make the same mistake again - and the same holds for any parent reading this story! :p

I doubt theres anyone waiting specifically for this phone, but there are still people who are coming off contract and this is a fresh option vs the black model.
+1. Apple knows that people coming off contracts in the spring/summer are used to having a new iPhone to upgrade to. If there were nothing "fresh" they may go elsewhere. So the white iPhone is being offered as something shiny and new to lure in those summer upgraders while Apple readies the iPhone 5 for Fall 2011.
I bet they've had this plan for a while. Does anyone think it really took them this long to get the white iPhone fixed?
My prediction: white iPhone very soon, possibly with a slight spec bump (64gb option?) Then nothing until September when the next iPhone is announced (my guess is it will be the "iPhone 4G"). It probably won't actually ship until October, which means you probably won't be able to get your hands on one until November, especially outside the US. Long story short, it's not worth waiting if you need/want to upgrade your phone now. iPhone 4 is gonna be around for a while, and my guess is that Apple planned that all along.

Yep, a touch sensitive home button is the way to go. Will act as the unlock button too. It was about time we got rid of that nasty plastic which breaks very easily.

Liberal banter = common sense and simple logic for the intelligent.... Too many people are so caught up in their lives that they forget the trauma of the past. History repeats itself and the market is like a roller coaster... remember the 1980's? Or even worse the 1930's.... Tech Stock is not going to hold. I am betting on Gold to hit at least 1500.00 in the next coming months and then upwards to the 2000.00 range.

1. Must be black.
2. Must be metal with no sharp edges (rounded edges) and be as simplistic as possible. Camera.
3. Touchscreen (no slide out keyboard)
4. Ergonomically friendly and look nice.
5. User interface to be nice and on par with present day interfaces (no 1990s looking icons).
6. Docking interface.
They are all going to look similar.

The rest of the design is not so bad but I wish Apple would get over the urge to make things look like their physical incarnations. I know there is a name for this but it escapes me at the moment.

I have a first gen iPad running 4.3.1, but although iTunes says a newer version is available, after it downloads it, extracts it, verifies my device and backs it up, it then says "this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
Does that mean the first gen iPad is now officially "legacy" and maxes out at 4.3.1? Or should I try a total restore/reset and update?

iPhone is a great phone and their are some android phones that are just as good. (I can say so much more but not trying to start an argument). But we have entered a time when smart phones have gotten super competitive with one another. Fact is the best new smart phone is being released every other week. When you pick this phone up you see the add on the way home alerting you a phone better is going to be released in a week.
Facts are now we live at a point where you can never have the best smart phone because the companies are doing such a great job to top the last one that no phone is great for more then a week now. You get what you want right now. Do go out attempting to buy the best one because you will be disappointed its not the best one. Get what you want. Wp7, iOS and Android all have there pros and cons.

After researching, I discovered that chocolate milk has the same carb to protein ratio that expensive recovery drink mixes have (such as the P90X Recovery Drink). So, instead of spending around $60/month, I've elected to go with the chocolate milk, and to add a few supplements that are important for muscle recovery (which are found in those expensive drinks). Any excuse to drink chocolate milk is a good one.

really sorry to hear that. reading about the insanely long lines at the apple store in brea, i headed over to best buy in fullerton instead. arrived at 1p and was 13th or so in line. i wish you all the luck in getting an ipad soon.
and i find that really surprising. despite at&t's faster (when available) data speeds, i've always found coverage to be completely spotty, especially in fullerton and brea. opted for a verizon ipad.

I had this happen to me too... I was reading the app description and accidentally swiped against buy. I got a refund, and a warning that Apple was making an exception and to be more careful :(
It soured me to the App Store experience for sure... the lack of any confirmation whatsoever

Before seeing this, I had more or less decided I would skip the next upgrade but I have to admit I love that design. Stick 64 gigs in it and I'll be at the top of the queue

As someone making the switch from the PC to Mac world because of the iPod, I'd say Apple is on the upswing here. At least 3 friends of mine have made the switch as well.
I'd say plenty of people are beginning to realize there is a world besides Microsoft out there and the iPod is the ambassador of all of this. Speaking for myself but maybe others, once I go over to Mac, I'm not going back. So as long as Apple and the iPod stay relevant, I think you're going to see iPod users stick with their iPods and also buy Macs next time around.

For this arena, the tables are turned, and the person trying to preach the gospel of some Microsoft music player will sound like the Apple nuts I used to scratch my head at in 1998. Microsoft would have to do something complete revolutionary to change these dynamics, and I think they're too much of a behemoth to pull that one off.
I'd say plenty of people are beginning to realize there is a world besides Microsoft out there and the iPod is the ambassador of all of this. Speaking for myself but maybe others, once I go over to Mac, I'm not going back. So as long as Apple and the iPod stay relevant, I think you're going to see iPod users stick with their iPods and also buy Macs next time around.
