I'm thinking around the time the Nehalem Mac Pros come out. End of this year, maybe.
Took Apple a year and a half to update the original Mac Pro - you think they will close the gap between the current and next-gen to below 12 months??!
Anyway... I'm holding out for an ACD announcement... and nothing. It's been two years without change, that's crazy. Has forced me to consider Dell... :(

What do you mean ?
You may be able to hack in your own subviews or you'll have to roll your own tab bar.
Thanks!

The big google ad is under the main story again.
If you don't like this, use this url

and it will toggle them back to the left-column. It's cookie based and will remember your settings.

I grabbed a few iMacs off eBay recently, I was wondering if these (slot loading 600 mhz) were completely silent like the older G3 iMacs? I used one years ago and remember it being nearly silent with the obvious exceptions of the CD drive and hard drive. I assume they're convection cooled? Is the graphics card silent as well? Are they all like this?
They'll be arriving at my doorstep on Wednesday, can't wait. :D

I would think gps information embedded in a photo would be a bad thing. So some kid posts a picture of him and his friends on Myspace and some creep downloads the picture, now they can look up where the picture was taken. Seems like a lot of invasion of privacy.
I would think that would be easy to solve, by having sites strip EXIF (or maybe just that tag) before posting on public web pages. Or simulate the "selective availability" that was originally on civilian GPS and have the picture's lat/long tag be accurate only to within a few hundred meters, or some such.
Of course, it's not like the kids in question don't already post way too much information. Birthday, age, grade, school, teacher name, and a bunch of pics of themselves and their friends too... someone out there could have a field day. Literally.

I agree, those ads were great, but Apple has moved on from just advertising the iPod (Classic), and now the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad are the main focus for ads.

How tall is the stand? Could be the stand height plus the height the iMac display is at. Try just removing the monitor stand and have the iMac on the desk by itself since the chin of the iMac sort of raises the viewing of it a bit

The first adapter is what I use to connect to my MB i7 now (i.e., going from Dual-Link to MiniDisplay). Unfortunately, the PC is a laptop with a VGA port (no Dual-Link DVI). So I guess that offers a second option, which using a Dual-Link DVI female to VGA mail adapter. Would that work?
no, for at least a couple of reasons
i) the mini displayport to VGA adapter is passive, it means that it's designed to hook up vga displays to a mac with mini displayport and nothing else.
ii) VGA resolution is limited to 1920*1200, while the cinema display is 2560*1600
plus, if your video card has only one VGA port, it's probably too old to push so many pixels smoothly. Consider an upgrade.
EDIT: I've just read that you want to connect your laptop, not a desktop. sorry, there no solution in this case. :(

My brother bought the original Zune. 30GB version.
Don't think he used it that much, and now it's just sitting in it's box.
I'd love to use it, but sadly, both my computers are Macs...

In bed,
Sadly.
I was unemployed (laid off) and turned on the TV to note all sorts of news programs. I kept flipping the channels thinking it was just some political propaganda I didn't care about, until I spotted the video of the first plane.
I woke up between the two of them, and out of disbelief, I grabbed a stack of new VHS tapes and started recording. I still have the tapes, and plan to digitize them some day.

Apparently, for accounting reasons, they have to sell the update for $2 because they are adding functionality to products that have already shipped. (From the MacRumors front page)
It would probably be a good idea to follow the official thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=271382) now:

the Zunes weren't actually that bad. The UI and snappiness of the device is actually attractive. It has a better touchscreen response than an Android device, to be honest.
